Whipped

Whipped

  • Director:
  • Starring: Amanda Peet
  • Details: US / 82 mins / (18)

Three New York single blokes - Brad (Van Holt), Zeke (Barber) and Jonathan (Abrahams) - with aspirations to be lady killers meet every Sunday to discuss the weekend's conquests with their married associate, Eric (Domke). However after separate meetings, the trio of singletons all fall for the same girl, Mia (Peet). Before they know it, their friendship begins falling apart and they've all become what they fear most - 'whipped'. Yawn.
With no character that is remotely believable or even a tiny bit likeable, it's extremely difficult to find any redeeming features in this terribly unfunny movie. Bordering on the misogynistic, Whipped desperately wants to be profound with its bunch of low rent losers' sexual admissions, but only comes across as puerile, tasteless and childish. Whipped is Peter Cohen's directorial debut and on this evidence, he should never be let near a camera again. Avoid like the plague never happened.
