BI Agent Jack Crawford (Statham) becomes obsessed with revenge when his partner (Terry Chen) and family are killed by the notorious and mysterious assassin Rogue (Jet Li). As he tracks him down, Crawford gets embroiled in a dark world of betrayal and double-crossings. The Transporter and Crank proved that Statham could be a believable action hero (something uncommon for a Englishman) but reviews have not been kind to War; director Atwell failed to deliver on the possible chemistry between two potentially charismatic leads by giving them nothing of interest to do. Not the Heat battle of wills it's being billed as.
