Film Reviews
Pixar are now firmly in the 3D business with their latest critically lauded effort, Up, embracing the format wonderfully. So, with the highly anticipated Toy Story 3 set to hit our screens next summer, the folk at Disney Pixar have thought their first fully CGI Feature, Toy Story, worthy of the same treatment. This is the exact same film as the one you probably already have at home on DVD - just in 3D. Now, paying the extra clams to see this in that format may perplex some, but the fact that this is bringing a wonderful story to a new generation renders that forgivable. Toy Story is still one of the best animated movies of all time, simply because a great story, likeable characters and a smart script never really age. If your kids haven't seen it, this is the perfect opportunity to introduce them to Woody and Buzz. A retrospective viewing hammers home just how far Pixar have come in terms of technological advancement, but also simultaneously provokes supreme admiration, as these guys were the first to do something of this magnitude and completely knock it out of the park. A modern classic, bring on the third one next year.
