This Christmas

This Christmas

  • Director: Preston A. Whitmore II
  • Starring: Chris Brown
  • Details: USA / 117mins (15A)

PREVIEW

A middle-class suburban family reunite for Christmas but the holidays turn out to be filled with everything but yuletide cheer. Secrets abound: divorce, live-in boyfriends, the marrying of pregnant white girls, owing bookies serious money and unusual career paths all come to head over the holiday season. With the family at each other's throats, it's up to Joe (Lindo) to keep the peace. Before anyone says The Family Stone, This Christmas promises to have a bit more bite than that. However, word has it that there are so many cooks, they couldn't get near the cooker to spoil the broth; Whitmore II should have cut out a few minor characters to allow the main ones breathe a little.
