PREVIEW

After hiring Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro to tackle the prequels to his beloved Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson ended up sitting in the director's chair himself when del Toro tired of the red tape that had held up production for two years. Fanboys were delighted to see Jackson return to the helm, and some of the characters that catapulted him to the top of the A-list. We won't see the finished (first) movie until December 2012, but this prequel is building a level of anticipation not seen since Star Wars days.
