Jackson and Mac play two estranged soul-singing legends who agree to travel across the country together, despite the fact that it's been some twenty years since they have spoken, to participate in a reunion performance at the Apollo Theatre to honour their recently deceased band leader. That the late Isaac Hayes makes an appearance as himself will undoubtedly see this comedy film become a tribute both to the soul icon and to the film's star comedian, Bernie Mac, who also died during post-production.
