Based on Natalie Robins and Steven M.L Aranson's novel, which in turn is based on a true story, Savage Grace documents the 1972 Barbera Baekeland murder case. Julianne Moore plays Barbera Daly, a woman who marries above her station when she takes up with the heir to the Bakelite plastics fortune, Brooks Baekeland (Dillane). Because of his homosexuality, their only child Tony (Eddie Redmayne) is an embarrassment to his father, and Barbera and Tony plot to rid themselves of him.
