Hubert Flynn (Postlethwaite) turns into a rodent overnight and what follows is an absurdist account of how his family deals with the situation. Rat boasts a number of very funny set pieces, including the sight of Staunton wringing excess Guinness from the over-indulging rodent during a trip to the pub. Marvellous stuff.
