A straightforward tale of a young woman's cancer and her return home to Scotland to die with the help of her ex-lover, much to the consternation of his wife. Fatalistic in tone but boasting funny one-liners, the film is as angry and self-indulgent as you might expect from its subject matter. The film is beautiful to look at, but it's curiously unmoving.
