Kikujiro

Kikujiro

  • Director: Takeshi Beat Kitano.
  • Starring: Takeshi Kitano, Great Gidayu, Fumie Hosokawa, Rakkyo Ide, Makoto Inamiya
  • Details: Japan / 122 mins / 12

The formidable Takeshi Beat Kitano, responsible for the awesome Hanoi-Bi [Fireworks] returns. Ostensibly a road movie, the director plays an ordinary Joe talked into taking a 10-year old boy to see his mother for the first time. Inevitably, things don't turn as planned. The director's outstanding sense of visual imagery and offbeat humour are very much in evidence.
