After his so-so Trees Lounge and Lonesome Jim, Steve Buscemi steps behind the camera once more to direct Interview, the first of three remakes of murdered Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh, he of Vincent Van Gogh's brother's great-great-grandson fame (in an operation called Triple Theo, the other two films will be directed by John Turturro and Stanley Tucci). Buscemi plays jaded New York reporter Pierre Peders, sent to interview prissy actress Katya (Miller) even though he hasn't seen any of her films or knows much about her. Sparks fly, Pierre storms out, but the cab crashes and Katya invites Pierre to her place to administer First Aid. They start talking... The stationary action allows Buscemi to explore his directing technique and uses the apartment to the best of his abilities.
