If I Should Fall From Grace
- Director: Sarah Share.
- Starring: Shane McGowan, The Pogues, The Popes.
- Details: Ire / 93 mins / tbc
Subtitled the Shane McGowan story, Share's documentary of the life and (occasionally very fast) times of one of Ireland's greatest songwriters is a fascinating examination of a complex man. Non-judgmental on some of McGowan's more publicised battles (with booze and drugs especially), the film instead seeks to discover what inspires McGowan to constantly bare his soul. With insightful asides from the likes of friends and collaborators like Nick Cave, If I Should Fall From Grace makes for fascinating viewing.
