From the director of Twenty-Four Seven, A Room for Romeo Brass sees Shane Matthews continuing in his apprenticeship in quirky British Filmmaking. Likened to Ken Loach and Mike Leigh, Matthews is a director to watch. The film centers on the lives of two young boys in middle class England, their friendship, their troubles and a series of troubling events sparked by a chance meeting with a stranger. It manages to be both endearingly funny whilst maintaining an element of terror, which can find you shielding your face in fear of what will happen next. Well worth a look, boasting great performances from unknown actors.
