White Noise 2: The Light

White Noise 2: The Light

  • Rating: White Noise 2: The Light rated 3
  • Director: Patrick Lussier
  • Starring: Craig Fairbrass
  • Details: US / 99mins (15A).

The original movie was a good idea: Michael Keaton, unable to get over the death of his wife, employs an unusual communications device to contact her from beyond the grave. However, the experience becomes an obsession and threatens to take over his life. This time around, with a new director and writer, the plot is more than just a rehash: Abe Dale (Fillion) is brought back from the brink of death only to find that his wife and child died in the same accident. However, Abe now possesses new powers - he's able to foresee death and goes about stopping people from their imminent demise. But this intervention in the natural order of life and death has its consequences and he is soon haunted himself. It's an interesting idea and kudos to first time writer Matt Venne for not churning out the same story. Fillion's cult following might get enough bums on seats to guarantee a third installment.
