Vampires versus werewolves? Excellent. Kate Beckinsale as a Blade-a-like action hero? Hmmmm. A silly, uninformative script scuppers any attempt at clarity, and the occasional nuggets of story that do gleam from amongst the dross only serve to increase the sense of frustration.
