A sprawling, multi-faceted tale of the drug-trafficking industry, Soderbergh's return to form is a superb reminder of what a movie can achieve. The cast does justice to a strong script, with Del Toro outstanding as a corruption-fighting Mexican cop, but the key is Soderbergh's inventive story-telling.
