The Mummy Returns
- Rating:

- Director:
- Starring: Brendan Fraser
- Details: US / 121 mins / (15PG).
Set almost a decade after the events of The Mummy, Rick (Fraser) and Evie (Weisz) have married and are now the parents of eight-year-old Alex (Boath). However, a sinister plot is afoot to bring the Mummy (Vosloo) back to life to fight the Scorpion King and win control of his devastating army.
Thanks primarily to the proliferation of action set pieces and lack of real invention or humour in the plot, The Mummy Returns is more a collection of escapades than a bona fide movie. The actors have little to do and Sommers' technical wizardry certainly can't compensate for the lack of humanity at its core. A grave disappointment.
