A disaster movie about the impact of global warming, The Day After Tomorrow boasts stunning special effects and offers the thrill of watching destruction on a massive scale. Unfortunately, events are by necessity ridiculously compressed, which means you can never really suspend your disbelief long enough to empathise with the characters.
