Scary Movie 4

Scary Movie 4

  • Rating: Scary Movie 4 rated 1
  • Director: David Zucker
  • Starring: Anna Faris
  • Details:

The fourth instalment in the increasingly awful franchise, this time they rip off - sorry, parody - The Grudge, The Village and Tom Cruise in general. I'd actually need to expand my vocabulary considerably to fully describe just how monumentally terrible Scary Movie 4 is. The first Scary Movie was a bad film that basically took dialogue from Scream and re-wrote lame d**k and fart gags into it. Nonetheless it was a huge hit - as were the even worse sequels - and now, well, now we've got the 4th abomination of a comedy on DVD. Director Zucker, who brought us Airplane (absolute classic) and more recently the underrated Baseketball (with South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker) should hand in his Directors Guild card and go sit on the edge of a mountain in South America somewhere to think about what he's done. Scary Movie 4 is one of those films that are even worse in retrospect. Faris, who has shown to have fine comic ability in other films, walks around for the entire film like she's smelling one of her own farts. Everyone is awful. Nothing is funny. It's got no redeeming qualities whatsoever. You have been warned.
