Two men (Whannel, Elwes) wake in a public toilet, chained to the walls with a corpse between them; a tape-recording informs them that Elwes must kill Glover, or else his wife and daughter will be murdered. A nasty psychological horror, Saw blows its high-concept opening with twists and turns that are too hysterical to ring true.
