Tribute band front man Wahlberg replaces the lead singer of his favourite rock group but discovers that fame ain't all that it's cracked up to be. Not as funny as Spinal Tap, but less sentimental than Almost Famous, Rock Star is good fun until it adopts a moralising tone near the end.
