De Marquis de Sade (Rush) continues to promulgate his subversive theories from an asylum cell, aided and abetted by a priest, a washerwoman and a sadistic doctor. Kaufman rarely makes an uninteresting film, and while Quills isn't a particularly enjoyable flick it is hugely intriguing and Rush is superb.
