Payback

Payback

  • Director: Brian Helgeland
  • Starring: Gregg Henry
  • Details: US / 112 mins / (18).

Heist-meister Porter (Gibson) is double-crossed by his partner Val (Henry) to the tune of $70,000. Undaunted by Val's association with The Outfit, Porter embarks on a mission of revenge. Rumour suggests Gibson dumped the last third of the original script and rewrote an ending more suiting his iconic status; a slick, soulless and tawdry affair. Payback will in time be vilified as an example of the worst excesses of corporate Hollywood.
