Monster-In-Law
- Rating:

- Director:
- Starring: Jane Fonda
- Details: US / 102 mins (12s).
Stars: Jennifer Lopez, Jane Fonda, Michael Vartan, Wanda Sykes, Adam Scott.
You have to feel for Vartan here. He is the male lead sandwiched between Lopez and Fonda - both of whom are desperately trying to resurrect their careers in this predictable and mind numbing rom-com. Lopez plays a boho, dog-walking chick, with the obligatory gay best friend, who falls for a rich handsome doctor. He proposes to her while they are hanging with his mom. The mid-life crisis mom is determined to do everything she can to split the pair up. Chances are you've seen the best bits in the trailers. Get back on the bus Jane, this really isn't somewhere you should have stopped.
Rental Extras: The usual mutual appreciation of cast members and a detailed look at the wardrobe. Lopez sums the whole film up by saying: "This really isn't a movie for the critics… this is plainly one for those people who just want to have a laugh. It's not high art, it's not deep and meaningful. Unless you're about to get married, of course."
EI Extra: Lopez has worked on 4 films since Monster in Law, Fonda and Vertan are both on a break.
