A timely telling of a tale that is timeless: the plight of refugees, in this case Jamal and Enayat (playing themselves), travelling from the Pakistan⁄Afghanistan border through Asia and Europe towards asylum in Britain. Director Winterbottom employs a style of filmmaking that is DIY and hit-and-run; the impact is extraordinary in its very ordinariness.
