Fed up his constant whinging, God (aka Morgan Freeman) bestows omnipotent powers on Bruce (Jim Carrey) so that the ungrateful mortal can realise how blessed his life really is. Carrey is in good form here, but even so the comic potential of the script goes unrealised.
