Bad Santa
- Rating:

- Director:
- Starring: Billy Bob Thornton
- Details: US, 93 mins, 15PG.
While The Polar Express and Christmas With the Kranks are strictly for the kids, Bad Santa is a seasonal bellyjiggler for the grownups. BB Thornton stars as Willie T. Stokes, the Bad Santa in question. Every year this degenerate drunk and his unfriendly elf get themselves hired by a large department store and, at the end of the shopping season, the pair fleeces the place. What's different about this year is Willie has been befriended by a bullied fat kid and ends up moving into his home - with his senile sandwich making grandma. Thornton is utterly wonderful (and oddly enchanting) as the hard-boozing, womanizing, child-hating conman. The support cast is excellent too, but this is Billy Boy's comedic vehicle all the way. A word to the wise: do not show this film to innocents just because the word 'Santa' appears in the title.
