Alone in the Dark
- Rating:

- Director:
- Starring: Christian Slater
- Details: Canada, Germany, USA. 96 mins. 18s.
This one went straight to video for a very good reason. Not to mention it was based on a video game. Edward Carnby (Slater) is a detective of the paranormal with unhappy ties to a demon. Employing every cliche in the book; maverick, ludicrous love interest, crashes and bangs and a magic coat (in the style of Indiana Jones, Blade etc) this film offers nothing new. However, there is plenty of noise to keep young boys entertained - if the 25 year old little boy I watched it with is anything to go by. But then again, he did eat 3 packets of crisps in a row…
Rental Extras: Ridiculous justifications and claims by cast and crew under the guise of interviews and special effects 'making of'.
