1920. Polio-stricken Mathilde (Tatou) refuses to believe that her fiancee died in the trenches during WWI, and so begins a long search to prove that he is still alive. Beautifully shot, with the period detail wonderfully rendered, this is a very very long film indeed that is made even longer by Tatou's insipid performance.
