Insidious To Get A Sequel

Insidious To Get A Sequel
03 February 2012

There is to be a sequel to last year's horror hit, and the mostly spooky thriller, Insidious, reports the folks at Heat Vision.

The last film worked superbly as a haunted house spook-fest up until the final twenty minutes, when it descended into utter silliness. That said, everything before it was well paced and genuinely effective - but I still fail to see how a sequel would really work. Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne starred in the micro-budgeted flick which cost $1.5 million to produce, and took over $100 million at the worldwide box-office; so naturally a sequel was probably discussed early on. Director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell, is in talks to return for the sequel, but no word on possible cast returns.

I'll reserve judgement on this until I see it, but hopefully this doesn't turn into another garbage series of Saw type movies.
